About The department

The Department of Zoology at Dinhata College was established in 2007 to cater to students interested in biological science. From 2007 to 2014, Zoology was part of the B.Sc. (Bio Science) curriculum under the University of North Bengal. In 2015, Zoology was offered as a full-fledged subject when the college affiliated with Cooch-Behar Panchanan Barma University, initially accommodating up to 10 students. This capacity increased to 30 in 2022. Until 2023, the department followed the CBCS curriculum, after which Zoology was introduced as a major subject under NCCF (NEP 2020).
